Google Sandbox

There was a great quote by someone in a forum recently. The discussion was about black hat, gray hat, and white hat SEO and whatever that implies.

Someone said, “It’s easy to tell people who do black hat SEO, they still believe in the google sandbox.”

There are a lot of people who believe in the google sandbox and not all of them consider what they do as black hat seo.

However, being one that does burst someone’s bubble every now and then, now is then and going to do just that.

In the style of jeff Foxworthy the comedian.

If your webpages frequently end up as supplemental pages in google, you might be doing Black Hat SEO.

If google consistantly or often penalizes your website or webpages, you might be doing Black Hat SEO.

If you are constantly reading Matt Cutts Blog and trying to learn the newest trick to get your site ranked well in google, you might be doing Black Hat SEO.

If you are using dupe content or building websites where all the content is scraped through an RSS feed, you might be doing Black Hat SEO.

If your position in the google SERPs goes up and down like a roller coaster, you might be doing Black Hat SEO.

If you learned all you know about SEO from an eBook or from anyone who talks about themselves in the third person using words like guru, you might be doing Black Hat SEO.

If you are doing seo services for clients and you have never built a website yourself that makes money, you might be doing Black Hat SEO.

Anyway, whether you find these funny or not, the truth is if you are trying in any way to “trick” the search engines into ranking your website higher, then you practice black hat seo and you will not be successful in the long run.

If you have anything to add to the foxworthy-esque routine above feel fre to comment.
