How To SEO Your Blog
Hot tip from the blog masters:
When you select a category for your business blog post, choose one category. The search engines will crawl your blog more often if each post is tied to one keyword-optimized category. You can have as many categories as you want for your blog but only choose one for each post. Then, if you use tags (and I highly recommend that you do) for your blog, you can use as many tags as you want for the blog post.
The difference between categories and tags is simple. Tags are keywords that alert blog directories that your blog post is available for crawling and tells them what specific keywords to look for. Categories tells the search engines and your human readers what the blog post is about. It has some SEO benefit but not as much as tags.
In the end, though, content is the real SEO. Even if you don’t use tags or categories, the content in each blog post will be your SEO tool. Tags and categories simply add to the SEO your posts already provide. For further SEO development, use your keyword in your blog post title as well. Then, at the bottom of your blog post, include a signature that consists of anchor text, using the same keyword that is in your title, tags, category, and blog post. If you include the same keyword in all the elements of your blog post, you will go far on the blog SEO track.
