Where Do You Get Your Traffic From?

Traffic is an important measure of success for most webmasters and website owners. Of course, you can have all the traffic in the world and no sales. That just means you need to work on your website copy. But how do you drive traffic?

I’m convinced that SEO is still the best way. Google is the best source of traffic online and Yahoo is the most trafficked site. That says a lot when the two best traffic sources are search engines. But there is a relatively new trend that is also a good source of traffic. It’s called social bookmarking.

10. Squidoo.com

You should be actively promoting these social bookmarking sites by allowing your visitors to easily bookmark your content. You should be creating your own content on sites like Squidoo and placing links back to your site.

Put a bookmarking icon on your blog or website to give your visitors an easy way to bookmark your content. If it is valuable and useful content more people will bookmark it. The more people who bookmark it the more people will visit your website. You’d better hope you have great content or you won’t close the sale but if you don’t get traffic you won’t get any sales either. Good content and lots of traffic - the two prongs in the fork of website success.
