Developing Content
Content Development is defined in Wikipedia as being, “…the process of researching, writing, gathering, organizing, and editing information for publication on web sites.” That says it all, really. All you need to get going is a theme, some keywords based around that theme, and the time it takes to do it.
Content drives the Internet, or more accurately, the World Wide Web. People visit web sites, not for the flash headers, not for the exciting images, not for the well thought out colour schemes, but for the content. They are seeking information - written information that they can learn from.
Developing content requires a discipline. It’s not difficult, but if it isn’t structured properly, the result will be less than it could be. You start with a topic, or theme. From there you find all the relevant keywords, and prioritise them in order of importance. Then you research the theme and the specific keywords of information that you can use to write the content.
Often, or usually actually, you will be rewriting information in a unique way that makes your content different from any other. It may still be basically the same message, but it will have your interpretation. That makes it unique content, and exactly what readers, and the search engines, want!
