Pay per action is an advertising model where you only pay when the desired result happens. For example, your desired result is for the visitor to purchase a product, or sign up for a newsletter, or perhaps fill in and submit an application form.
Pay per action advertising tends to cost more per completed action than the pay per click model. However, with pay per action you know that for each payment increment you have gained your desired result. This is unlike pay per click where you pay regardless whether or not it results in anything desirable.
