Anyone can make a mistake, especially when jumping feetfirst into the business as I did. That's right, I made the mistake of taking one of these cheap article writing assignments. However, it was through ignorance of proper rates and a mistaken belief that getting a reference at any cost was an effective way to start out rather than stupidity that led me to accept such a lousy contract. Needless to say, I only made that mistake once. After a month spent slaving over 200 articles and only showing a measly $200 for it, the lesson was learned... and learned well. Your time is money, and your time is worth far more than $1-5 per article if your writing is any good at all.
