Blogging As A Means Of SEO
The word blog, is a portmanteau, or fusion, of the two words, web and log; it is a weblog, shortened to blog. Blogs are essentially web sites where entries appear in chronological order, and can be catalogued according to subject matter. Blogging is the act of creating entries, or posts, on a blog.
Blogging has become an accepted method of helping sites to get indexed and increase in ranking faster than normal. They have become an extremely useful tool used as a feeder site to funnel traffic to a money site. Used in this way, blogs are very useful SEO tools.
The usual practice is to set up a blog, or a cluster of blogs, all themed on the main web site’s theme. The main web site is dedicated to making a profit, and has in place all the promotional material, slaes page, shopping cart, etc, necessary to that end.
While the money web site may rank well in its own right given time, it can be made to rank well and receive third part traffic if a system of blogs are used. The blogs are all hosted on their own domains. There can be as many or as few as desired. Sometimes just a single blog is used.
Each blog is posted to every day with a relevant post, which includes a link with appropriate anchor text to the money web site. The blogs are likely to quickly be indexed and rank in the search engines and should soon have a respectable amount of traffic per day. A percentage of this traffic will click on the links and arrive at the money web site, where a percentage of the visitors will purchase.
Blogging in this manner is extremely efficient. It becomes a numbers game, and the more traffic that can be passed on to the money web site, the more people will purchase. There will also be a feedback mechanism that will help to rank the money web site higher and help to keep it there.
