Branding And Marketing As An Authority Site
Branding is an important aspect to marketing on the Internet. It’s all about recognition, just the same as Coke, Nike or Google. A brand is anything really that imprints a message in the minds of consumers, usually of a fair deal, often a quality bargain.
One way to brand a site and profit too through clever marketing is to make your site an authority site. How can you achieve authority status, you might ask? Well, you need to be the best there is in your chosen field. You need to be “voted” the best by your peers, and then recognised as such by search engines such as Google.
“(An authority site is) A site that may or may not have Google’s trust but does have respect and trust from the peers within it’s niche. … Becoming an authority, regardless of how you achieve that goal, takes time. Generally, a site does not become an authority site overnight. Trust and respect in any venue requires time and effort. However, once that trust and respect is achieved, you would have to do something pretty stupid to lose it. And once your site has become an authority, your SEO goals become so much easier to achieve.” www.seo-scoop.com
Once authority status is achieved, you have got it made, as they say. The hard work is over, you have effectively become “branded” as the authority you are. People, even maybe Google, trust you. Your hardest task ahead is keeping your authority status. Remember, it takes a long time to build trust, but seconds to destroy it.
