RSS: A Really Simple Solution To Getting More Business
Back in the old days of Internet marketing, before there were blogs, marketers conducted e-mail marketing. They sent out weekly or monthly e-mail newsletters and were able to attract new business that way. After the advent of blogs and Really Simple Syndication (RSS), many e-mail marketers converted to blogs. I know why.
I’m not saying that e-mail marketing isn’t still valid. Many businesses still use it and it still have a place in every Internet marketing strategy. But you can do many of the same things and reach the same target market through RSS feeds.
If you have a blog, and most businesses should have one, then RSS is almost a necessity. It allows your blog readers to subscribe to your blog’s feed and read it whenever they want to read it. All they need is a feed reader and many of them are free. Some of them work with e-mail applications and others are web-based. Both kinds are valuable.
One way to increase your RSS subscriptions is to offer something of value for free. A free e-book download, or podcast, will do a lot to entice people to read your blog and subscribe. By offering a free download that provides something of value, you can attract more readers to your blog and earn more trust.
