Creating A Banner For Internet Marketing
Creating a banner to use in your internet marketing campaign is not all that difficult. You may find that using your header image (in a reduced format) could do the job. If you wish to create one from scratch, the following criteria should be considered to gain the greatest effect in any internet marketing campaign.
- Colour. Colour is important whether its the background, images or text. The colours need to flow smoothly to produce a neat attractive look. Your banner needs to be visually appealing.
- Images. Make use of images or graphs where appropriate particularly when they support your cause. Make sure the colours complement the rest of the banner.
- Text. Use text to convey a message. Keep your points short and sharp without shouting. Don’t use bold unless it complements the rest of the banner.
- Size. Size does matter. Often, when using a banner in an advertising campaign you will only be offered a range of sizes. There is a trend at present for 125 x 125 banner ads. While inexpensive to place, the ad size reduces the amount of information you can deliver.
The most important aspect when creating a banner ad for internet marketing is that it delivers the required message whilst being visually pleasing. Even in a banner ad, content is king. You may have the most visually appealing ad around but if it doesn’t provide the right information, no one will click on it and it becomes a pointless internet marketing tool.
