Keeping Your Web 2.0 Visitors Engaged
The term Web 2.0 is almost outdated now to the point that what was considered the ‘new web 2.0′ is now the norm, anything else is outdated. There are however many bricks and mortar businesses that have not taken that next step to an online presence and the increased business it can create. These tips may help you to get started in the world on online business marketing.
Don’t try and do it alone: One of the biggest reasons that online sites fail to generate visitors and sales is because the business owner has tried to do alone. Web 2.0 is complex when it comes to optimization for traffic and sales. Employ an expert to project manage your site from day one. Let them get the headaches while you continue to put your time into your business.
Provide information: Web 2.0 is all about being social and sharing information. Put together as much information as possible including pictures, videos, and text. If you have user manuals, guides or brochures, let your project team have access to as much as possible.
Dedicate time: Dedicate some time to answering emails and forum (or blog) questions. Spend some time to getting to know the social part of the internet.
Educate: Try to learn as much as possible about your own site and any related forums, blogs, social sites and directories. The more knowledge and experience you gain, the more comfortable you will feel accessing and using this environment.
Time and education seem to suggest the opposite of using an expert. However, how will you know if the ‘expert’ has done a good job if you don’t become involved yourself. You need to consider yourself a part of a team, in fact the ultimate team leader, and to succeed you need to becomes a part of the web 2.0 environment.
Whilst it may sound involved and complicated, and it is behind the scenes, in front it can be quite straightforward and often quite interesting. Being able to communicate with potential clients or customers online can be very different experience to seeing them in flesh and bones. Web 2.0 communication is almost instant. Whether it is a messaging service or simple email, people expect quick replies.
Getting a web presence is easy and can be a cost effective way to increase your business and your sales.
