Search Engines Getting Soft With SEO Consultants
It had to happen at some time! Google has finally come out and accepted that SEO consultants are not bad news, at least, not all of them. In an announcement on their WebMaster Help Center, Google lists a few pointers on what to look for in a good (and bad) SEO consultant.
To quote from the article:
If you’re thinking about hiring an SEO, the earlier the better. A great time to hire is when you’re considering a site redesign, or planning to launch a new site. That way, you and your SEO can ensure that your site is designed to be search engine-friendly from the bottom up. However, a good SEO can also help improve an existing site.
I like the first line – if you are thinking of hiring someone to do your SEO, the earlier the better. I couldn’t agree more. The article actually contains some good information in relation to search engine optimization in general.
Google recommends you get a handle on what SEO is all about before even thinking about hiring a consultant. The old information about black hat techniques to avoid is still there at the end of article. Nice to see the search engines finally recognising the usefulness of SEO constants.
