Search Engines And Re-inclusion
Every now and then a web site owner comes to us with news that their sites are no longer being found in the search results. There can be several reasons for this, one of which is the removal of all pages from the index due to some transgression of the search engines terms.
The first step is to determine why your site has been excluded. Your Google Webmaster account is a good place to start. Google may send you a notification if it is removing your site from the index. One recent case that was highlighted had been removed from the index due to a malicious attack on the site.
In this case, simply recovering the site was all that was needed for it to be re-indexed. Google had contacted the web owner through their webmaster dashboard advising of the steps required for re-inclusion
If it is an honest mistake, or if you have undertaken some strategies that don’t meet with approval, the reversal can be difficult, but not impossible.
The hardest task is undoing the wrong. For links that have been acquired less than ethically, this can be difficult. For most other trangressions, for example, sold links, simply removing those links will satisfy the search engines – so long as your not a repeat offender.
If you are able to reverse any transgressions then it is a simple task to go into your webmaster account at Google and request a reconsideration. If everything has been done then your site will be re-indexed.
