Branding And Marketing Through Social Media
Branding is one aspect of marketing that many individuals have trouble in understanding. Most people feel that branding is something that is relevant to the major corporations, not for the little guys. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Developing brand recognition is not going to happen overnight. Overtime, using various aspects of social media, you can develop that brand recognition that can make your business an ‘online name’ (as against ‘household name’).
Social media had become quite powerful and on various site you can see the power of branding. When you first join a social media site you start to network with others. You are constantly joining their circles, often staying on fringes.
Over time you can move from the fringes of these social circles closer to the center. As your reputation, and with it your brand, grows circles will start to form around you. This when your brand starts to take on a life of its own.
How do you achieve this? The aim of social media sites is to be social. At the same time you need to start injecting your expertise whenever possible (without being overbearing). As others start to recognize your expertise you will find they are turning to you for help. This is the start of your movement from the outside of the circle to the inside.
With the acknowledgment of your expertise comes the association of your brand. Your website invariable becomes your brand and should reflect what is being seen within the social media sites. If you are conservative then a conservative site is what they will expect. If you are a an expert on blue widgets, then blue widgets is what they will be looking for.
Branding and marketing occurs through social media sites everyday. You can make a big impact on your site if you can create some brand recognition yourself on these sites.
