Yahoo Opens Up The Buzz To The World
Yahoo’s Digg like bookmarking experiment has finally been opened to the public. It was a low key opening of the doors although the news has spread pretty quickly. What’s the Buzz?
Very simply, it is simply another social bookmarking site. It does however have rewards that far exceed all others. If you can get your content ‘voted’ to the top it may appear on the Yahoo.com where it will be viewed by millions. If you can 1% of these viewers clicking through to your site, that will be a lot of traffic.
The reality is that like most social bookmarking sites it will get its fair share of scammers and people trying to rort the system. The higher the rewards the harder some individuals try to rort things – this will be no different.
Yahoo Buzz is not as sophisticated as sites such as Digg. You can put a Buzz button on your site, however you will have to manually insert the page url into the code for it to work. Is the Buzz worth investigating. Yes I think it is – but it will not suit everyone. Have a look and decide for yourself.
