Branding And Marketing Destroyed In One Bad Move
A lot of effort, time and often money can go into a good branding and marketing campaign. However, it doesn’t take much to destroy everything you have done. The following is a short list of actions or inaction’s that could, on their own, kill your reputation - yet they are done without real thought.
Poor Hosting:
If your website is hosted on the cheap, it will show up very quickly. It only takes an hour or so of down time on a regular basis and people will start to distrust you. Cheap hosting often has hidden clauses that enable site suspensions, sometimes simply because your traffic has increased - strange - isn’t that what your want. Webmaster often get frustrated about down time; they never translate that to reputation.
Failing To Respond:
This is a particular problem when a business has a blog. It becomes a bigger problem if it occurs on Facebook or Myspace. If someone has an issue with your product or service, it has to be de-fused as quickly as possibly. To many business owners let it slip as a one off complaint. It only takes one or two others with similar problems to add their stories and you can say goodbye to your reputation and your branding and marketing campaign. You need to be vigilant and act quickly.
Failing To Update:
This is one of the webs biggest downfalls. Business owners set up websites proudly displaying their wares, terms and condition and often prices. Two years later the site remains as it was first created, including stale prices. You have several choices. Don’t include prices if you cannot keep the site up to date or better yet, don’t create a site in the first place. An online presence requires updating and refreshing on a regular basis. Let it go stale and so to will your all your branding and marketing efforts.
These are only three actions, or rather, inaction’s; yet they have the potential to destroy your online presence and with it your business.
