Branding And Marketing Starts Day One
If you’re about to start an online adventure with your business then consider your branding and marketing aspects right from day one. This means considering your domain name, your web page design and items like your logo. However, it goes beyond name and design issues.
Perhaps your online business is going to be called the ‘Green Widget King’ for example, then you need to live and breath that name. Your domain ideally would be greenwidgetking.co.uk – your logo would feature a green widget and of course the web name would be Green Widget King. That is all fairly basic.
When you start your journey into the social media marketplace, that is when your business name become important – it should also be your login or screen name. In this case it is quite sensible. Your screen name would be GreenWidgetKing.
Branding and marketing does not need to be done through mainstream outlets. It should be done in every aspect of your business. If you include a blog and visit other blogs, don’ t use you name when leaving a comment, unless you can use yourname @ GreenWidgetKing.
What you are doing is exposing your name, your brand, in as many places as possible. Branding and marketing is probably the one area that is forgotten the most when starting a new online business – yet long term, it is one of the most important.
