Branding, Blogging And SEO
You may not realize it, but there is a distinct and important link between branding, blogging and SEO. In fact, the three go hand-in-hand so well I am amazed that web masters don’t make better use of the connections.
When you think about it, branding is all about making the public in general aware of your brand. Your aim is to bring a natural and spontaneous link of a particular product group, and your name. Think of a cola drink and most people will naturally jump to ‘Coke’ or ‘Pepsi’. It takes a long time to get to that level of branding.
In the online world, blogging and blogs are perfect platforms to enhance a branding campaign. Add a social media campaign and your half there. Half way? That’s where SEO comes in to finish the job.
Whilst your blog is busy branding your image or product, it also gaining a position within the SERPs, which in turn leads to more traffic and broader impact for branding campaign. This extra traffic wont come by accident.
The more diligent your SEO, the higher you will rank in the SERPs. Your SEO work can still be a part of your branding campaign, in fact, your campaign should become an essential component of your SEO strategies by targeting keywords associated with your brand.
Branding is ineffective if it doesn’t have an outlet and an audience. You wouldn’t design a great poster then stick it to the wall in your dining room. To be effective, it needs to be outside where everyone can see it. If necessary, you need to do some promiting to get the passing traffic – they at least will then be exposed to the poster.
That is what your blog can do – be the outside wall. The content is, in effect, the poster. Your SEO? That’s the promotion to get the traffic. Blogging, branding and SEO – use to effect!
