Internet Marketing For 2009 And Beyond – Is Video The Key?

To stay on top of your opposition when it comes to internet marketing you need to be fresh, innovative and different. In other words, you need to stand out from the pack. Video has been around for sometime now and, particularly in the blogging world, become a popular way to deliver a message. Blogs often come with a video, audio and written version.

The next big trend in blogging will most likely be the video blog, where everything is delivered via video – even advertising. WordPress will no longer be the number tool, Youtube will grow as individuals use it to store their videos whilst a dedicated video delivery tool will be used as the ‘blog’ home page. Sound far fetched? Maybe – however video is certainly going to be the future of internet marketing.

YouTube is one of the fastest growing sites and I can only see it growing faster as more and more businesses realize the power behind the video and benefits of using sites like YouTube.

If you look at the top search terms for 2008 you will notice that most of them were “how to’s”. This is where the web has become the most useful tool around for the ordinary mum’s and dad’s and students – it can provide answers to questions. Video takes it one step further. Rather than telling people, in words, how to do something, you can now show them and as video becomes more technical, you will be able to show them from every possible angle.

Why is this good for internet marketing? If you can produce and publish a wide range of “how to” video’s related to your niche, you will find that your pages will start to rate quite highly. Search engines, particularly Google, love videos – it’s almost like they are the flavour of the month and search engines are eating like mad. Publish a good video using the best in SEO strategies and your video will probably be ranked closer to the top of the search results compared to a text alone article.

There are other benefits to video. Video, stored offline at sites such as YouTube will often get embeded onto other sites – this further spread the word – at no cost and you may increase your back links along the way. Internet marketing will no doubt go through changes and video will be one of them – are you ready for the challenge of internet marketing via video?
