Can A Ghost Writer Be Good For Your Blog?

What are you best at when it comes to your business? Many business owners are good at spotting potential buyers, products that will sell, locations to set up their business, I could go on: in other words, they are good at running a business. What they may not be good at, or have the time for, is writing content for their web sites – particularly daily blog posts. The answer could be to use a ghost writer.

If you’re a business owner then you should be able to spot the benefits of using a ghost writer fairly quickly – they save you time which means you can work more on your business. Is there a measurable return on your investment? That is a harder question since it depends on outcomes you measure. Increasing your web sites page rank and with it your organic traffic can be one measure. Increasing your credibility, reputation and business name or brand is another although harder to actually ‘measure’.

Increase your sales – I saw you ears prick at that – maybe. A blog is a useful tool for all of the above. It should, over time, increase you sites search rankings for the keywords you target. It should, if the daily posts are authoritative, increase you credibility and reputation. These two together should help to increase your sales – at the very least they will help to increase your traffic.

I know one of the burning questions is always going to be cost. If you were to compare the cost of daily advertising and marketing you will often find that hiring a ghost writer is far less. Would you spend £10 per day on advertising. Chances are it could cost as little as £5 per day to have a ghost writer.

Many would look at the £5 per day and wonder what sort of writer would write for that sort of money. I can tell you from experience that very professional and very talented writers do. If you think about it, if they can type at 40 words per minute – they can put a 400 word post together in ten minutes. As they write from home they have little in the way of overheads. If they write 4 post per hour they are earning £20 per hour – still sound cheap?

Ghost writers can be found with a little research. Talk to them, most ghost writers have their own sites that you can check for quality. Ask them to show you a professional site they write for – if they do – steer clear of them. Professional ghost writers respect privacy and ethics – they will never reveal who they actually write for – except themselves. Better yet, use a professional service.

You can then get on with what you do best – working your business while the ghost writer gets on with what they do best – writing.
