Companies Increasing Their Budget For SEO
There’s an interesting report by Econsultancy. 55% of UK businesses are planning to increase their spending on SEO.
This is good news. And I can’t think of anything better to spend your money on for marketing purposes. As more and more businesses, and consumers, go online, it looks like this is where the action is going to be in 2009. One of the reasons that online spending is going up is because of a downward spiral in the global economy. Without getting into the causes, the result is that people are doing less driving and traveling around, therefore less spending off line. They can usually find what they need online and have it shipped directly for less. That’s a big opportunity for online retailers and other businesses.
In addition to spending on SEO, we found it interesting that more companies are using Facebook and Twitter:
In the social media arena, Facebook continues to dominate, with 65% of companies currently using the social networking site as part of their marketing strategy. 49% of companies are now using Twitter.
This makes us wonder, how are you planning to budget your marketing spend this year? Will you be spending more on SEO or social media?
