Article Submission Still Makes Online Marketing Sense – Except When You Abuse The Marketing Angle
Article marketing is still a popular form of internet marketing and for many site owners, produces a steady flow of visitors and links. For many others, article marketing brings nothing except frustration. Perhaps they are overdoing the marketing and not putting enough thought into the article itself.
There is a misconception about what article marketing is within some areas of the online community. Some individuals use articles to promote themselves, their products or brands, or their websites. They may try to be clever by hiding the fact within an article, however, unless you are brilliant writer, it is very hard to pull off.
To write a successful article you need to come from the angle of the reader. Why will they want to read your article? Because it is helpful. That’s it! Your primary focus must be to inform your reader, help them, perhaps clear the air about a confusing issue. If you are selling vacuums, rather than writing about how good your particular vacuum is, write about a feature – for example, the filtration system, and write about the system itself, not your use of it.
Once you have written an article that provides useful information for the reader, use the resource box to promote your business. In the resource box you can use statements such as “xxx uses this filtration system” or similar using your keywords to link back to your site.
You can also use non branding keywords scattered throughout the article to assist with SEO and to act as triggers for the reader. Article marketing is not about marketing your products directly – it is about providing information. If the information is helpful then the reader is quite likely to either look for more articles that you have provided, or to visit your web site(s) for more information.
As a form of internet marketing, article marketing is about selling yourself as an authority within that particular niche. Do that successfully and you will find that article marketing is still one of the best forms of free online marketing.
